A Spanish debut

Kimpton Hotels has opened the doors of its first Spanish location in Barcelona. But what sets the Kimpton Vividora Hotel apart from competitors in the popular tourist destination? We find out more about the design.

Kimpton, IHG’s boutique luxury brand, has made its Spanish debut with the opening of the Kimpton Vividora Hotel. Located in Barcelona’s famed Gothic Quarter, the company’s first hotel in Spain comprises 156 guest rooms, as well as three restaurants and bars.

To create the Barcelona-inspired interior, Kimpton collaborated with local design agency El Equipo Creativo. Drawing from the iconic textures, colours and design history of the surrounding city, the design agency added contemporary details and local artwork to create a final concept that merged authenticity and modernity.

On the ground floor, guests can find Café Got. During the day, this café offers local artisan coffee, Catalan cheeses and small plate food items, but at night, natural wines, vermouth and cocktails adorn the menu.

Fauna, the hotel’s main restaurant, is located on the first floor. With mosaic floors, high ceilings and walls adorned with brightly coloured tiles, the restaurant is reminiscent of a Barcelonan home.

The rooftop bar, Terraza de Vivi, will feature a beautiful pool with sun loungers, elegant lighting, pergolas and lush greenery.

Visitors dining at Fauna can experience a culinary adventure designed by Catalan Chef Farran López. Mediterranean flavours and family recipes form the foundation of Fauna’s menu, with a creative touch added to give each dish a Kimpton’s twist.
